Hi families!
I hope you had a great Easter! Since it's a short week, with April vacation around the corner, we will be having a catch up week this week! Use this time to complete this week's bingo squares, or any other squares that you might have wanted to do in week's past. Here are the catch up week centers below. Enjoy! Self Portraits: Explores sense of self. Shows pride in work. Makes real life connections. Use mirrors, encourage your child to look at what color eyes/hair they have. Discuss shapes used for different body parts. Name Writing: Practices fine motor skills necessary to hold a writing utensil. Understands that print carries meaning. Recognizes letters in name. Begins to write first name. Encourage proper pincer grip when holding a pencil, shadow write if needed, but also encourage children to try writing on their own. Model how letters are written or write an example on a different piece of paper/white board. Write the Room: Give children a clipboard, paper, and pencil or white board and dry erase marker and encourage them to go around the classroom (or house) and look for words, trying their best to write them. Clay-doh names: Use play doh, or make your own! Then have children make each letter of their name out of play-doh letters! (or use alphabet stamps) ~Ms. Molly

Hi families!
Next week, we will be taking a break from OWL to celebrate Easter! See below for our Easter centers! Easter Egg Stamping (ART): Use plastic easter egg halves to dip in spring colored paint and stamp! We usually cut a bunny out of white paper and stamp the bunny. Magnetic Easter Eggs (SCIENCE): Fill easter eggs with paper clips and use magnetic wands to experiment with magnetism! Easter Egg Sand Molds (SENSORY): Use plastic easter eggs to make egg molds with kinetic sand. Making Easter Baskets (ART): Make your own easter basket out of a paper bag! Have your own nature Easter egg hunt and collect things outside that are egg shaped. Playdoh & Spring Cookie Cutters (FINE MOTOR): Use Spring or Easter cookie cutters with play-doh! Or use plastic easter eggs to create egg molds. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy Easter! ~Ms. Molly |
