Hello Families!
Next week we will be taking the week off from our OWL curriculum to celebrate Halloween. We will be busy with Halloween centers, games, and activities! Some of activities include: Candy corn math game Spider Webs and tweezers Ghost windsocks Play-doh monsters Creepy crawlers in sand Please see below for important information regarding Halloween celebrations! We will be celebrating Halloween on Thursday, October 31. We will be playing games, having some treats at snack, and participating in the school parade. The parade will be held at 1:30pm on Thursday. Students will parade along Broadway (O Street to N Street) with the whole school for all to see! Parents are invited to line the route. Please send your child to school wearing their costume on Thursday. Your child will not need their uniform or a change of clothes. Children will wear their costume all day. Please do not send in accessories (wands, shoes, weapons, etc.) Our party will take place during snack time, children do not need a snack on Thursday, only a lunch. Explores and experiments with chalk. Engages in a variety of fine-motor tasks. Building Block Towers (BLOCKS): Moves body with balance and control. Describes the physical properties of objects. Asks questions about materials. Uses language to describe observations. Supports dramatic play. Play Dough with Baking Props and Recipe Cards (PLAYDOH): Observes and explores materials. Monday, 10/7 is picture day. Students will wear their school uniform on picture day. A make-up day will be held in November. Please send in one family photo for our family wall. Our centers for next week are: Drawing & Labeling family portraits (WRITING) Printing with Apples (ART/SCIENCE): Develops understanding of 3-D objects and their surfaces. Explores and experiments with a process. Creates artwork for display in the classroom. Playing with family figures (BLOCKS): Engages in conversation and uses language to enter into play. Begins to understand family needs, roles and relationships. Uses classroom materials purposefully and respectfully. Builds awareness of directionality and position in space. Painting furniture (DRAMATIC PLAY): Uses language while participating in dramatic play. Initiates interactions with other children. Engages in socio-emotional play.
